AI Assistant
Some subtitling problems can't be solved by moving a block or stretching a duration. A subtitle too dense for the time available, an awkward line break, a typo nobody caught, an episode to deliver in another language: all of these call for reworking the text.
That is what the AI assistant is for. It knows the project's active standards (line length, reading speed, language rules) and suggests text that respects them.
What the AI Can Do
| Need | Tool | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Fix, rebalance, or condense one subtitle | AI rewrite | Brain button on each subtitle |
| Fix mistakes only, on a selection or the whole project | Spelling | Tools > Spelling and grammar (AI) |
| Redistribute text across several subtitles | Rebalance | Tools > Rebalance (AI) |
| Proofread the whole project (spelling, grammar, style…) | Global AI review | Tools > Global AI review (Shift + Cmd + R) |
| Translate a selection or the whole project | AI translation | Tools > Translate (AI) (Shift + Cmd + T) |
The AI Suggests, You Decide
No text changes without your approval. Each suggestion appears next to the original, with an indicator showing whether it complies with the project's standards. You then accept it, reject it, or ask for another version.
An accepted suggestion can be undone like any other edit, with Cmd + Z.
Included With Your License
The AI assistant is part of Scene Cut. With an activated license, it works with nothing to configure. You can also use your own key with the provider of your choice. Everything is explained in Access and settings.
- AI rewrite — one subtitle at a time, with dialogue
- Global AI review — a linguistic proofread of the whole project
- Spelling and rebalance — several subtitles at once
- AI translation — into the project language, within the standards
- Access and settings — included AI, personal key, data sent
