Global AI Review
Scene Cut's validation checks the form: durations, lengths, reading speed. The global AI review checks the language. It proofreads the whole project like an editor would, and flags what's wrong.
Starting the Review
Three paths lead to the same panel:
- the Tools > Global AI review menu;
- the
Shift + Cmd + Rshortcut; - the Review button in the toolbar.
The AI reads subtitles in batches of 50 and shows its progress. On a feature film this takes a few minutes. You can keep working in the meantime.
Six Kinds of Issues
Each note is filed under a category:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Spelling | typos, missing agreements, misspelled words |
| Grammar | tense consistency, subject-verb agreement |
| Punctuation | quotation marks, ellipses, language-specific spacing |
| Register | a character switching from formal to informal address for no reason |
| Style | repetitions, clumsy phrasing |
| Consistency | a name spelled two ways, a term translated differently |
The pills at the top of the panel filter by category, with the number of notes in each. All shows them all again.
Handling Notes
Clicking a note selects the subtitle and moves playback to it. The Previous issue and Next issue arrows let you move through them.
For each note:
- Apply correction replaces the text with the suggested version, and marks the note as done;
- Reformulate suggestion opens a feedback field ("keep the slang", "more neutral"), then Regenerate (
Return); - Mark as done files the note without changing anything, when the phrasing is intentional.
Once every note is handled, the panel says so. Rerun analysis proofreads everything again, for example after a round of edits.
Results That Stay
Review results are saved in the project file, with their date. Reopen the project the next day and the handled and remaining notes are still there.
They also appear in the QC report, so you can show the client that proofreading was done.
